Australian Pavilion
Dubai Expo 2020
Accolade's approach to the Australian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai was truly remarkable, with a thoughtful division of the space into three distinct areas that effectively showcased Australia's culture, innovation, and sustainability efforts.
The first space, the welcome area, featuring Indigenous art by the late Josh Muir and a filmed interactive welcome from young Australians, set the tone for visitors, providing an authentic introduction to Australia's rich cultural heritage and diversity.
"Star Dreaming," the full dome planetarium, offered a mesmerizing experience, immersing attendees in Indigenous Australian stories of the night sky. This segment not only honored Australia's Indigenous peoples but also highlighted their deep connection to the land and sky.
Finally, the 360-degree immersive space, narrated through the perspective of a young Indigenous woman and her oceanographer brother, showcased Australian innovation across various fields such as science, medicine, arts, and culture. This innovative storytelling approach not only educated but also inspired visitors, emphasizing Australia's role as a global leader in innovation and sustainability.
Accolade's ability to seamlessly integrate these elements into the pavilion's design, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, speaks volumes about their dedication, creativity, and adaptability. Their successful delivery of the Australian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai undoubtedly left a lasting impression on attendees, reinforcing Australia's unique identity and contribution to global innovation and sustainability efforts.
